You can check what version you have by opening Sound Director, and going to the HELP menu and clicking ABOUT. Your version and patch level information will be displayed.

If you do not have the most current version, connect your computer to the internet and then on the HELP menu in Sound Director click CHECK FOR UPDATES. Sound Director will automatically check for the lastest update and walk you through the download and installation process.

IMPORTANT NOTE! -- Some users may encounter an exception error after clicking CHECK FOR UPDATES and Sound Director finds and attempts to download more than one patch.

If the exception error occurs, users should click CONTINUE and download the next patch. Ignore the error and CONTINUE until all of the patches have been downloaded, then RESTART Sound Director to apply the patches.

This issue has been resolved in the 6060 update of Sound Director.

MANUAL UPDATE

If your computer running Sound Director cannot be connected to the internet to automatically check for updates, you can still download the patches (below) and install them manually.

You will need to download all patches to get you to the most current patch level. For example if you are on Patch level 6070, you will need to download all subsequent patches to get you to the most recent version.

Once you have downloaded the patches you need, you will need to copy them into this folder on your computer:

C:\Program Files\Sound Director\Sound Director\patches

Once you have the patches in the folder above, start Sound Director and you will be prompted to install the patches.
